"First Id like to start by saying thank you to Bryan. He has made working out fun, quick and I cant really say easy (but thats a good thing). I had a few general workouts so a base was established then was asked what I wanted specifically. The workouts were changed and refocused to help me improve on my goal of becoming stronger and more fit but without bulking up for my hockey season. Bryan had to then research and come up with exercises which would accomplish this without me looking like a goon. I am able to skate faster, shoot harder, and greatly improved my endurance. "Tucked away in little Chinatown is a place for one to be inspired, motived, and partake in their own life changing experience. Hidden in an aged building, the Weights- weight room and fitness center is the opposite of its sheltering walls, rather it is a modern and up-to-date space with a full weight room, cardio machine, as well as other health and well being gadgets (such as an infrared sauna, light therapy hair removal, shooters and shakes, energy-drinks)- that are both " medicine for the body and mind".

Since returning back to Canada 3 months ago, I have a had the pleasure of having Bryan as my personal trainer. Only having a trainer once before, my experience at Weights has been far more uplighting and life changing. The results I have seen- just from 30 minute sessions- is amazing! I even have friends telling me how "tight" and how good i look, not to mention i have been "hit on" way more when going out. The thing is that not only are they noticing, but I am noticing myself, and i feel great! - which i think is the most important. For example, I have never noticed my arms so firm, and i am starting to see my bum and legs separate and take on a great shape. My energy has also increased, as well as my desire to maintain my current toned figure, but most notably, unlike before, I believe I will be able to maintain- as that has always been my difficulty- maintaining.

Bryan's personalized and researched workouts get the results you are after in a short amount of time. Also, the fact that the gym, or rather studio space, is yours for half an hour makes your workouts not only private, but you also feel that the attention is solely on achieving your goals. I feel FANTASTIC!

I am so excited to share my “fat to fit” story.

Only 10 months ago...January 2008 I was grossly overweight, 180lbs plus, a size 16 pant and carrying all this extra unnecessary weight on a 5’4.5” frame. You could say drolly - I was “rolly polly”.

My attitude sucked! I ate, but not for nutritional content. I was unmotivated; my excitement level was equivalent to that of a sloth. I didn’t want to participate nor did I want to socialize outside of family gatherings. I just preferred to be left alone and allowed to wallow in my own self loathing.

My sister-in-law booked a photo-rejuvenation appointment as part of her New Year’s resolution. Her excitement she could not contain; over she came and paraded her new look. I was wowed by her immediate results just after one visit, her joy and delight with the skin rejuvenation therapist, Bryan Runge who also happened to be a personal trainer. She convinced me; I just had to try this amazing treatment for myself....
Then just like an abracadabra magic moment; I made an appointment for a facial, too!

I met with Bryan on February 12th- 13th for my facial rejuvenation appointment at his Weights101 Studio. On entering the Weights studio for the first time I was impressed with the utilization of this small space. Its layout and functionality both as private gym space which allows clients the opportunity to work out with a knowledgeable personal trainer one on one privately and relaxation/cardio room.

The individualized attention one receives is exceptional and welcoming.

I was so thrilled with my rejuvenating appointment that I made enquiries about the personal weight training. Bryan promised I would see real significant changes in my body if I truly wanted to change . I had to commit to reinventing myself through, weight training 30 minute sessions 2/3x a week, cardio 2/3x a week, and a simple to follow diet meal plan. I would get and see serious results in three months. Wow! How could I lose? If I lost anything... this was a win win situation. My health was at stake. I am over 45 years young.

My day of reckoning ...weighing up was February 25th 2008 body measurements, body comp and the scale. Yikes! This only fuelled my desire for a new healthier me!

I soon figured out the real bonus to any weight training session was the Weights’ shooter bar pre and post workout. Call me a bar fly but I do I love the protein shakes and my favorite the black Russian shooter. It’s really all about rewarding oneself! I made changes at home as I did the shopping and meal preparation. This has benefitted everyone in my family.

At three months I weighed in at an astounding 155lbs, 30 some odd pounds lighter and a size 8 jean! My wardrobe has been reduced redistributed and renewed. I was shocked and unbelievable thrilled! Bryan re-named me his “shrinking dotty”, and I really am!

My story to date, it’s been 9 months since I committed to reinventing myself. I now weigh in at 139lb, but it’s not only about the scale because as my strength builds my body flab is being consumed turning into muscle, and my size is a 6 and just recently I purchased a size 4 jean. I don’t have a desired weight or transfixed goal that I will just stop at it’s not about an end point; I am continuing on my journey to better health and the new me!

My self-confidence, my energy level, my strength and my excitement are just a few of the benefits besides the obvious my physical appearance all have improved immensely. It’s amazing how exercise and personal health affects you both physically and mentally. All I can say is “Thank you Bryan so very much, for all you have given and taken away.”

For all you who need inspiration the way I needed it. I hope my” fat to fit” story has somehow resonated with you and given you the motivation to take that first step and call “Weights, U R 1 step closer 2 reinventing yourself.”

So if you are still not convinced thus far that weights 101 would be the answer to all your concerns...

Just let me recap my benefits: to my health my health professional is astounded at what I have done to prolong my life's expectancy; to my body my new physic has made me very charitable and entrepreneurial my designer wardrobe will find many new happy homes; about psychological benefits I just can't say enough of how mentally positive this experience has been. My hubby and me are getting out together more and planning trips together now. But, Hello! I've saved the best for last...

"I had always worked out at the Gym but the last 5 years and it’s been on and off due to lack of motivation, and thought I was doing the right exercises. "I signed up for a month at Weights 101 with the simple goal of getting back into routinely exercising. I didn't expect my body shape to change in such a dramatic way! I learnt an amazing number of new exercises, and a completely new approach to working out that achieves incredible results in a minimum amount of time. I have a complete record of all the workouts, so now when I go to a gym I can quickly and easily plan my workout, and keep adding to the results I've already achieved. Having so many exercises to choose from ensures that workouts will never again be boring, and that even in a gym with limited facilities (for example a hotel gym) I can do a complete workout.

I'm also extremely happy with the number of abs exercise options I now have. I always hated sit-ups and crunches (and forever skipped over abs), but now know many ab exercises that I enjoy doing. Rapidly seeing tangible results (for example I could do 4 times as many reps at the end of the month) provides great motivation to keep going and pushing myself."

"I have been a client at Weights for about eight months. I had always hated going to a gym because everyone always seemed in much better shape then I was. However, at Weights, I get private one-on-one instruction with nobody else around. I don’t have to think about my workout.
I just show up and Bryan has my workout planned. Bryan also analyzed my eating habits and made slow changes to what I put in my body. All the small changes added up over time. Since I have been going to Weights, I have lost over 50 pounds, and increased muscle tone dramatically. It was difficult at first since I was in such poor shape, but I stuck with the program and I eventually saw the results. My only problem now is none of my clothes fit me and I have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Weights in conveniently located in Gastown which is only a 15 minute walk from my downtown apartment. It is also quite inexpensive as you get an extra private gym and a personal trainer for the price of a small car payment every month. I am so much healthier and in the best shape of my life at the age of 35.

You should know that when I started with you at Weights it was strictly on a trial basis. One month I figured, and I wanted to see results. I was already motivated and committed. I signed up with Bryan four months ago and have not looked back. He offers great insite into his personal one on one training and it shows in all aspects of his profession. He is very adaptable in changing the program to show the best results for my body and makes the workouts seem easy although trust me they are not. I followed the meal plan for five weeks and trust me this showed a huge difference in my body, makes one totally aware how well one should eat and Bryan followed up on this regularly to see how it was going. I felt very comfortable with Bryan and he has a good sense of humour which to me is very important to me. My motto has always been if you enjoy what your doing you stick to it and with Bryan I have been very dedicated to his program, I have received the results and am pleased I took the one on one training package.
